Inside MÜHLE: Corina Aschmuteit
A visit to the packaging department at MÜHLE: Here, Corina works alongside 13 colleagues. “I used to work in retail – that’s what I trained for,” she says. “But once I had a family, the schedule just didn’t work anymore.” Shift work in particular became an issue. So in 2013, she applied to MÜHLE – just down the road. “I told my husband: Why apply somewhere far away when I could try right here in town?”
More international than expected
What she hadn’t anticipated: that the small factory on her doorstep would turn out to be a globally active family business. “I knew the brand, of course. But I didn’t realise they were shipping products all over the world.” Today, she’s part of that global journey: the items she packages are sent to London, Tokyo or Los Angeles – and carry a little piece of the Erzgebirge out into the world.
A company in transition
Since Corina joined, a lot has changed. New production halls, updated technology, new faces. “I used to work in the Heldenlounge shipping department – it looked completely different back then. Today, everything is brighter and more modern.” From her workstation, she can see through large windows who’s coming and going. Is that an advantage? She laughs: “Depends on what you like.”
Corina grew up in the countryside and wouldn’t want it any other way. “It was always clear to me – the city’s not for me. And my kids feel the same. They’re not city people either.” A short commute, a pleasant work environment, and a job where quality matters – for Corina, it’s the perfect combination.
